YouTube: New "Recommended Videos to Watch from Others" Playlists on My Channel Starts Today!

Starting from today onwards, I'm going to attempt to hopefully help establish my channel more as a one stop place for significant games I've played and uploaded footage of, while giving back to other content creators. The first games that I'm tackling is of course the Warriors/Musou games.

So I have created new playlists for specific DW/SW/WO games that are labeled "Recommended Videos to Watch from Others". These playlists will contain videos (from friends and strangers) of that game that I recommend others to watch.

You can now view these new playlists at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/user/wonderpierrot/playlists

What's the main point of this? Well... imagine this: various viewers continuously ask me to upload a video showcasing all musou attacks in a new Warriors games, or cutscenes, or whatever. Instead of giving into pointless labor and create such videos, I can simply redirect these viewers to existing videos that others have already created in my playlists, covering their wanted subjects and keeping them happy. IF such videos already exists.

My modus operandi has always been to create + upload what is necessary and avoid repeating what others have already done. If no one has done such a video yet, I will sometimes get out of my to try to be the first to get the video out. Nevertheless, videos that are not personally unique (i.e. videos that anyone can create and upload, such as cutscenes and musou compilations) are the bottom of the barrel for me in terms of priority—so I usually save these types of videos for last.

One of the reasons these playlists will be additionally helpful to me is because it gives me the chance to share videos I like and believe others would enjoy for that certain game.

In conclusion, everybody wins with these new playlists. I win, the viewers win and the content creators who I chose to have their videos featured in my playlists wins!

Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate Team Combos (Hyper & Special) #3 - Shennong, Nu Wa, Fu Xi

Alright, this is coming along rather quickly and nicely now. This is team combo number three out of four total, which means there's only one more left to go!

Video:

Why were these characters chosen?

Shennong was the obligatory character here, as he's obviously from the new cast of Hyper and Special. I'm never quite fond of Shennong myself, as his character came off as a fruit in my eyes. Sorry, Shennong fans! Nevertheless, I must say his moveset and weapon is quite versatile and can be given endless possibilities with combos.

Along with Nu Wa and Fu Xi, these three characters makes up the mystic team that KOEI TECMO has blessed with a unique triple rush. That is, one that fortunately doesn't break your combo on a single opponent.

Special notes:

This combo was perhaps one of the longest combos I've done as part of this entire series. Like the rest of the combos, this one sort of just developed on its own as I was also experimenting. A lot of interesting things were done with Shennong's C1 freeze and it rather turned out nice.

Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate Team Combos (Hyper & Special) #2 - Momiji, Zhen Ji, Zhong Hui

Continuing on my work towards my soon to be released Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate - Team Combos Compilation (Hyper & Special) video, here is video footage #2 and team combo of Momiji, Zhen Ji, Zhong Hui.

Just so you know, I do plan on releasing the rest of the video footage before the 28th of Thursday. That is of course, when Shin Sangoku Musou 7: Moushouden (Dynasty Warriors 8: Xtreme Legends) will be released in Japan. And yes, I do plan on obtaining that game and providing cool video footage of ityou know me; I never say no to another Musou game that isn't about Gundams and random animes!

But just so I don't spoil everything, I'm going to let the last combo video footage be a surprise!

Video:

Why were these characters chosen?

Momiji was a prime choice as she's part of the new cast for the Hyper and Special crew, which is what this combo video will be about. The other two characters are actually very important in assisting Momiji with a variety of her attacks.

Zhen Ji was chosen most purely due to her C1a simple 360 aura that has a 100% chance of slowing down enemies for a duration. Why is this of importance? You see, I really desired to incorporate Momiji's true musou in this combo. Since her musou like a lot of other SW characters has such a huge delay before its initial hit (the enemy will be able to recover from it before the initial hit, basically), that isn't going to be possible unless we find a way around it somehow. By utilizing Zhen Ji's C1 plus a single triple rush switch, Momiji can fire her musou during a combo and have it flawlessly connect!

Zhong Hui was another character for assisting in one of Momiji's attacksher R1, that is. Momiji's R1 has a high probability of sending the enemy very far, enough so that a standard switch combo will be difficult to connect. His musou when fired directly after the last hit of her R1 arrows, can counter this easily. Not to mention he has without a doubt one of the best musous in the game. There are actually a lot of other characters can go here, but I just chose Zhong Hui due to my massive familiarity and liking to his moveset.

Oh, and before you ask, the reason I did not use any of the unique triple rush teams with Momiji in it was because she only had one. That one was with Rachel. I simply didn't want to include Rachel again in another combo.

Special notes:

Although this combo appears a bit more simple than the rest, it's actually one of the more difficult ones to execute. This is due to a lot of moves requiring very strict timing to get correct. It also features a lot of advanced techniques, such as step canceling, analog rotation during R1 and others.

Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate Team Combos (Hyper & Special) #1 - Rachel, Masamune Date, Guo Hai

As you may not have know, I'm currently working on putting out another Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate Team Combos Compilation video, now focused on the newly introduced characters in Hyper and Special, instead of Ultimate.

I'm usually very secretive about these types of combo compilation videos. Prior to the video being publicly released, I'm only potentially handing out the video title and detailing what it's basically going to be about, but never shed any real light on the actual combos and characters being used.

Why's that? I want the video to exert as much surprise and awe as possible in one go. If I were to give everything away, that would ruin it, hmm?

Well, today I decided I'm going to say "Screw that!". Yes, I'm sharing exclusively with blog viewers all my progress on this next combo compilation video. This will include video footage of each combo that will be used in the final video. Consider it as "Behind the Scenes" if you will, but only that you get to look at all of this before the video is publicly released!

*Ahem*, I felt that since I've already released the first video publicly, the amount of surprise and awe is already much felt (especially since this video will be a direct continuation of that). Besides, I'm sure only like 10% of my YouTube audience actually reads this blog. :P

Onwards to today's video footage then!

Video:

Why were these characters chosen?

Of course, Rachel is mandatory because she's part of the Hyper and Special crew. Other than that, these characters are chosen simply for one reason: they have a unique triple rush, i.e. KOEI TECMO paired them up because they share similarities with one another.

When I find teams that have unique triple rushes, I always chose them over random teams for my team combos compilation videos. The sole reason is that being equipped with two different triple rushes significantly increases the variety and flashiness of the combo to be executed. Regardless, not all unique triple rushes are created equal. Some unique triple rushes are intended for an enemy crowd and fare poorly against a single opponent, which is what's important here. These unique triple rushes will fail to combo the single opponent effectively, allowing them to escape in midst of it and causing the combo to break.

Thankfully, these three characters have an unique triple rush that doesn't break the combo and allow the single opponent to escape. However, on the negative side, there is absolutely no way to continue juggling after Rachel's final rush attack. Hence, expect to either land it as the final killing blow or cancel it out completely (which is what I did with Masamune's musou).

Rachel also has another unique triple rush with a different team that includes Momiji. However, because I didn't want to include two new characters in one team (to extend the length of the compilation video), I chose to not use it.

Special notes:

All three characters have heavy uses of long distance firing bullets in their moveset arsenals. Hence, ice was something quite important to include to limit the amount of fly back due to their hits. Nevertheless, using ice also increases the probability of the combo failing, as it does not activate 100% all of the time. I think overall this was a good combo, that included all of the characters' signature moves and a flashy triple rush finish at the end.

Can you guess what the next team will be?!!

Hauppauge HD-PVR Fixed, and Early!

You know how I said two days ago that the culprit to my Hauppauge HD-PVR malfunctioning was the power supply? Well, I was absolutely right!

Earlier, I checked the shipment status of the replacement power supply I ordered October 9th on eBay. To my dismay, it still hasn't shipped—even though the seller clearly states that they always ship the same day of payment... Pfft...

Just as a shot in the dark, I additionally wrote a nice e-mail to Hauppauge themselves about the failing power supply and if they could send me a new one (keep in mind I'm nearly 3 years pass the warranty). Now, I've been very pleased with Hauppauge's customer support over the years I've own the HD-PVR. At one time (still pass the warranty), I requested a replacement driver/software CD because I lost my original one. Hauppauge asked no questions at all and immediately sent the latest CD out when they confirmed my shipping address.

Sure enough, the prompt response e-mail regarding the power supply simply said "Please give me your full name and address so we can ship out a new power supply.". Brilliant, not even a mention of a serial number to check warranty status! Either Hauppauge has outstanding customer service or they already knew something fishy was up with the NetBit power supplies shipped with the original HD-PVR.

Anyways, I didn't want to wait a week plus to get my HD-PVR working again, so I dug around the house to see if I have a similar power supply I could use for the time being. Low and behold, I found a power supply to my old D-Link router which fits the specifications of the HD-PVR's power supply almost perfectly (5V DC 2.5 Amp Output). So I removed the nasty NetBit power supply and plugged in the D-Link power supply to my HD-PVR and presto... everything back to normal!

But now I have sort of a minor dilemna, I have two extra power supplies being shipped to me that's going to be of no use at the moment. One cost me $13 and the other free. I will probably be keeping both for backup, as you would never know if one could fail on you.

To summarize: YouTube videos will be back online today or tomorrow. Also, expect the Musou Orochi 2 Ultimate review and 100% game save very soon! Also, if you happen to have similar problems with your HD-PVR like mine, try replacing the power supply before declaring it dead. If you can't find a replacement power supply, e-mail Hauppauge and I'm sure they'll send you a new one even if out of warranty.

Thanks for reading and always checking back for updates! :)

My HD-PVR is finally dead... or is it???

Earlier tonight as I was powering my gaming and recording center to record more gameplay videos for YouTube, I noticed my HD-PVR was no longer powering up video to my HDTV. I plugged in the USB cable to my laptop and Windows uttered an annoying message that the "USB device has malfunctioned and could not be recognized".

Now, this usually happens sporadically over the last year I've been using the HD-PVR. Meaning, it would sometimes fail to work properly and then abruptly work properly again until it fails again. Replugging all the electronics and powering them up various times and resetting the video settings on the PS3 always solves the problem. Last night I could only get it working with terrible purple lines scrolling up the display. This time however, no such luck. The HD-PVR remained unrecognized to Windows and my HDTV still displays no signal. So I then came to the scary conclusion that my once $200 investment is now a paper weight and is that I could no longer record any gameplay videos.

I was almost on the verge of buying another one when I stumbled across this article written from another blog: http://valkyriemt.wordpress.com/2011/04/09/a-defect-with-the-hd-pvr-will-eventually-fail-for-all/

It details that the most often failure of the HD-PVR is not the unit itself, but the power supply (adapter) that comes with it. It seems like the ancient capacitor plague has infected this cheap, Chinese made power supply as well.

So in a rush, I ordered a generic power supply off eBay. I was originally going to buy the original off the Hauppauge HD-PVR's official store website, but their store was broken and I could not put the item in my cart. Hauppuage, how you piss me off much so! Regardless, I decided it wasn't a good idea to buy another of the same power supply with time bomb capacitors that came with the HD-PVR anyways.

So I will await the new power supply (which should arrive by Monday) and will report back whether it fixes the HD-PVR or not. In the fortunate event that it does, I will resume recording and uploading videos to YouTube immediately. In the case that it doesn't and the HD-PVR is truly dead, I will have to buy another one or invest in a different capture device altogether (which I really don't want to do).

Yeah, I am still using my 5 year old HD-PVR. I didn't get the Intensity Shuttle Thunderbolt I discussed a lot on this blog because quite frankly, I'm just too used to the HD-PVR. Plus the fact that the Shuttle costs $100 more and it would only marginally increase my video quality.

To summarize: No new videos on YouTube for at least a few days to a week. Perhaps longer if the new power supply doesn't fix the HD-PVR. It should okay though, since you're used to me not uploading every day anyways, right?! But I really wanted to upload a new video today!! :(

Dynasty Warriors 8 Mega Combos Compilation Volume 2

I like to thank everyone for viewing my Dynasty Warriors 8 Mega Combos Compilation Volume 1, leaving comments and voting for characters you want presented in the next volume.

I have tallied the results up, looked at them closely and have compiled the list of characters that will most likely be on volume 2.

Nothing is entirely final and the combos are yet to be executed and recorded. That's why I'm listing more potential most likely characters than the 10 maximum per volume. This is to also factor in subsequent volumes past 2, as I'm contemplating on making at least 3 of these.

I'm also listing "maybe" characters that may or may not be on subsequent volumes, and finally "most likely not" characters that are well, most likely not to be on any volumes.

Most Likely:
  • Diao Chan
  • Da Qiao
  • Guan Yinping
  • Jia Chong
  • Zhong Hui
  • Wang Yi
  • Zhao Yun
  • Ling Tong
  • Zhen Ji
  • Wen Yang
  • Zhang Fei
  • Wang Yuanji
  • Yuan Shao
These characters have good to excellent combo capabilities and additionally have the highest amount of user votes. Therefore, they would be the best to showcase in the next volume. Listed from highest votes to lowest votes.

Maybes:
  • Lu Bu
  • Yue Ying*
  • Zhuge Dan*
  • Sima Zhao
  • Li Dian*
  • Zhang Bao*
  • Gan Ning
  • Lu Xun*
  • Han Dang*
  • Guo Jia
  • Sun Ce*
These characters have questionable to average combo capabilities. Although they may have a high amount of user votes, they may not be worth showcasing due to that reason. Asterisk (*) represents a character/moveset I haven't really experimented with for combos, so I may move characters here up to most likely if they turn out to have good combo capabilities.

Most Likely Not:
  • Cao Pi
  • Sima Yi
  • Xiahou Ba
These characters have poor to no combo capabilities. Therefore, doing combo videos for them are likely impossible.

If I didn't list a character that you or someone else has voted for, that probably means there were not enough votes—usually only one or two.

Estimated date of the next volume will be out by September 28th. I will post the final list of characters prior to the video being uploaded to YouTube.

Got Over Cold But Lost My Voice

Good news and bad news. The good news is that I've successfully recovered from one of the worst colds I've ever had, owing all to a lot of rest, supplements and of course my miracle drink I detailed earlier.

The bad news is that I seem to have lost my voice. Well, not really lost it, but it now sounds wholly different.

Hence, I don't think I will be able to post any new videos on YouTube for at least another week, or until I obtain my full voice back. Specifically because the videos I planned on doing involved voice work.

I will still be posting on this blog with some interesting posts this week and giving out comments on YouTube, as that's pretty much the only things that I can do at the moment.

Here is what I sound like now:

6 Quick YouTube Quality Tips for HD Gaming Content

A big shout out goes to XxDevotedGamingxX for the inspiration of this post. He recently sent me a message claiming how nice my videos looked on YouTube in comparison to his own, and requested some tips and insights on how I capture, edit and encode my videos. He's actually not the first person to have tapped on my shoulder regarding how I achieve the quality I do on my videos. There has been quite a hefty amount of similar messages to be honest, so much that I am now considering to share some basic helpful tips on getting excellent video quality on YouTube right here.

Now, we'll keep in mind as the forefront that you already have a decent HD capturing device and you already know how to utilize it to churn out footage to your computer. And by decent, I do mean an actual device that can capture in HD resolution, and not something pathetic like a pretend HD device that stretches 480i/480p to HD.

1.) Try to capture in progressive scan only (720p or 1080p and not 1080i)

This is mostly common knowledge, but you still don't realize how many people capture in an interlaced resolution on their HD capture devices, either unknowingly or even purposely. This in turn greatly degrades the image and motion quality of the video, a lot more so if the person doesn't know how to correctly deinterlace using the correct deinterlace methods. With progressive scan, the quality is constantly smooth and you won't ever have to worry about the aforementioned flaws of interlacing.

A lot of people make the excuse of evading progressive scan for interlaced with the reason that they desire full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution for their videos, but their capture device can only capture in 1080i and not 1080p.

While I agree the resolution and bitrate boost on YouTube is a benefit, I also disagree in that the process of deinterlacing that 1080i footage—or no deinterlacing at all—will in turn be actually worse in quality than a 720p final product. The biggest common issues being image blurriness, ghosting, jagged edges and horizontal scan lines present during motion scenes.

Now there are lots of ways to go about deinterlacing interlaced footage, some better than others, but I don't have the time to go through any of them. In fact, it's downright nonsense to do so as my tip here is to have you NOT have to deinterlace anything, by means of capturing everything in progressive scan.

To summarize, stick to capturing everything in 720p and 1080p. Avoid 1080i unless you absolutely know what you're doing.

2.) Disable resampling in your video editor

If your video editor is resampling your clips, make sure to get into habit of turning off or disabling resample. While I'm not exactly clear cut on what resampling actually does, it does heavily affect fast motion footage and will cause very noticeable ghosting. Sony Vegas is notorious for defaulting to "Smart Resample" every time you add a new clip in the timeline. By right clicking the clip, going to "Properties" and selecting "Disable Resample" the first time you add the clip, it will also help alleviate the need to continuously disable resample on subsequent spliced segments of the clip.

3.) Check your video settings before you encode

I've come a lot across instances where people make the common mistake of not checking their video settings in their video editor before encoding their videos. Worse, some downright ignore it and stick to using the supplied defaults, which are mostly not tailored to HD progressive scan content.

Make sure your resolution and frame rate are set correctly. If your footage is in 720p 30fps, change it to 1280 x 720 30fps progressive scan. Using the wrong resolution can cause black bars to appear on your videos or your videos to be cut off, which is something you don't want.

Disable all deinterlacing options or set them to none if possible. Remember, I don't recommend capturing in interlaced for the best quality.

4.) Encode in 30fps and not 60fps

Unless you truly want to preserve the original motion of your videos to store on your computer, it's best to encode/convert your videos to 30fps in preparation for YouTube.

Why is this so? Remember, YouTube at current still can only display videos at a max of 30fps. Therefore, uploading a 60fps video will cause YouTube to automatically convert it to 30fps.

Now, the crucial part of why you want to encode to 30fps manually is to cut back encoding time and to skip YouTube's automatic frame rate conversion. You don't know what kind of shoddy frame rate conversion YouTube has in their system, and thus you'll want to avoid it as much as possible.

5.) Use a good quality codec to encode your videos

A bad codec, bad video format or even using the wrong bitrate can transform an amazing quality source footage to sheer embarrassment. It's very important that you take in great consideration what codec, bitrate and video format you use to encode your videos.

H.264/AVC is regarded as one of the best codecs available in terms of maintaining the highest image quality and pushing the lowest file size. I strongly recommend downloading x264 vfw—a free H.264 codec that works universally on many video editors—and encoding your videos in AVI format.

In the x264 vfw codec settings, select either single pass bitrate-based (ABR) or multi pass, and around  6000-13500Kbps. Multi pass encodes the video twice and consumes twice the amount of encode time; however, compared to single pass (ABR), it gives off higher quality while having roughly the same or lower file size.

Max frame refs (Analysis & Encoding) should be increased to at least 5 for increased output quality.

6.) Enhance image brightness, contrast, sharpness and saturation

The default video image settings for your capture device is most of the time inadequate and non-vibrant in colors and noticeably blurry, so you'll want to ramp these a bit in order to make the output image more rich and realistic. This is especially important for gaming footage.

Generally brightness and contrast should be upped to about 5-10% from default, whereas saturation should be upped to about 10-15%. Sharpness should be increased until the edges on the image becomes as clear as possible without distorting the image's contrast.

Of course, the defaults on capture devices are not universally identical, so it helps to simply use the eye to determine if the brightness, contrast, saturation and sharpness is adequate enough.

If your capture device doesn't have video image controls built-in or available through its utility software, you can post apply them through a software such as VirtualDub/AviSynth and Sony Vegas.

Summary

If you want the best quality out of your videos possible for YouTube, follow all of these tips. If you like what you've read and want to know more about video capturing, editing and encoding; feel free to drop a link to my YouTube channel and post me a message!

Remembering the YouTube Times

In celebration, or dis-celebration of almost nearly 2 months of YouTube's "One Channel", I decided to look back in the past and see how much YouTube has completely dis-evolved in 7 years.

2006-2009

YouTube's first channel layout. The design is plain and simple, yet it worked. Navigation was super easy and effective. Everything including full profile, featured video, activity feed, uploads (which was entirely customizable), playlists (also customizable), friends, subscriptions, subscribers and comments are all in one single page. You didn't have to click multiple times to get to see the content you wanted to see. Bulletins and special videos section are also great.

Background and all the colors of the channel can be altered, and full transparency of all sections were available so your background could pop out.

This is highly regarded as YouTube's best channel layout by the majority of YouTubers.

2009-2011 "Version 2.0"

YouTube's first channel layout change. This is probably the most highly criticized action YouTube made by the public, and rightfully so. Thousands upon thousands of comments were posted on YouTube's forums and videos, and 99% of them were against it.

What's wrong with it?

First off, the organization and placements of sections are completely clumsy. User profile has been pushed down the page into semi-obscurity, and the featured video and its player is now always on top. The new channel video player has the ability to play all videos without having to leave the channel. I find this feature actually useful and nice, but a heft of options are disintegrated when playing videos using this method: viewing full sized, leaving and viewing comments and exploring related/recommended videos. To be able to access and do any of these, you would have to click to view the video in its original video page (which a lot of people will be too lazy to do). In the end, this punishes the channel owner the most, and would make views and comments diminish greatly. Somewhat good for the viewer, bad for the uploader.

The video sidebar, is the only place where you can store your playlists, favorites and uploads. You can no longer see all of them at once, requiring multiple clicks. Also, there's finger numbing scrolling you have to do to go through the videos since the sidebar is tiny. Bugs even makes it worse—sometimes it forgets where you were at during scrolling and you have to start scrolling over again from the beginning. Arrghh...

The design was also ugly.

I did appreciate the ability to watch videos on the channel without leaving the page, but there's simply too many bad implementations and design choices. It's still better than the next one though, which is even worse...

2011-2013 "Cosmic Panda"

Here is where customization and personalization really took a dive into non-existence. In cosmic panda, the default and only theme you could choose from was a plain looking gray/white appearance. Coupled with the removed ability to set transparency on anything, everyone's channels look exactly the same, besides the background. Speaking of the background, since the main gray/white content took over 90% of the display estate, the background can hardly be seen by most users. So why even bother?

Content is now even more separated into different pages, and some don't even make a lick of sense. To be able to view a person's channel comments, one would to click on "Browse Video" and then click on "Comments". Say, what does channel comments have to anything to do with browsing videos again, Einstein?

Mentioning channel comments, YouTube now cuts off comments after a certain period of time. So you can no longer view older comments at all, not even if you are channel owner. BS.

The ability to watch any videos without leaving the channel is now gone. That's funny, I thought they believed that was one of the greatest features and advertised so much out of it. Now they removed it entirely? But that's how the upgrade downgrade process on YouTube works, incorporate a feature that's remotely useful and then remove it for no reason on the next iteration.

The only thing I like about the new channel layout is that video thumbnails are very large. So it's easier for viewers to see them. Other than that, the previous two layouts were much superior.

2013-???? "One Channel"

A few months ago, YouTube decided it was going to change its homepage layout for the 63 gazillion time, going from a fairly graphical multi-grayscale layout to one so white it would give snow a run for its money. The most noteworthy bit of this change was the new sidebar, which YouTube claims allows a user to instantly see all of their subscribers activity and uploads on any page with a single click. I honestly could care less about it, especially since the new layout made my eyes bled with it having so much empty white space everywhere.

With this one feature in mind, they thought it was so radical and so crucial that channels must have it too! And being the brilliant minded folks they are, instead of just simply attaching the sidebar to the current channel layout, they went with yet again an all out entirely new layout. Remember, a new layout from YouTube means a POS layout that's another step worse than the previous.

Thus, the ugly duckling "One Channel" was born.

I don't think I even need to do much explanation on this layout as it's been forced down everybody's throat now for months.

Devolution is right.

So, what is your favorite and worst YouTube channel layout?

Dynasty Warriors 8 Wei Trailer English Voices Review

As you know, TECMO KOEI EU has released an official trailer of Dynasty Warriors 8 that includes the entire Wei kingdom and their respective English voices. Yes, this game is the first game in a long while to feature the well missed English dubs in the international release.

Here are just my short thoughts on their voices.

Cao Cao: He has his voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. I always sort of liked and hated it at the same time. For one, it does eminently fit his appearance and persona; on the other hand it just reminds me too much of Nobunaga's voice. On the contrary, the Japanese version has had different voice actors for both Nobunaga and Cao Cao.

Xiahou Yuan: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. It fits him well enough, I suppose.

Xiahou Dun: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. I absolutely love his voice. Very badass and very fitting and also brilliantly superior to that grunty voice of his Japanese counterpart.

Cao Ren: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. His voice has always stricken to me as being good; I have no complaints with it then, I don't have any now.

Li Dian: Young and nerdy, but it suits his wacky face and hairstyle. Could've been a lot worse to be honest.

Yue Jin: Laughably bad. Atrocious. Unprofessional, amateurish delivery. Sounds like a teenager being overly excited playing with toy swords. He also sounds like Li Dian for some odd reason.

Zhang Liao: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7, or at least I believe so, as he does sound a bit different (a little higher pitched). No problems with his voice though.

Dian Wei: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. Although his English voice suits his brute appearance better, I just find the Japanese voice too awesome with those high pitched tongue rolling attack screams.

Jia Xiu: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. Slightly raspy and very pirate-esque, but it attaches to his appearance well. Good enough for me.

Xu Shu: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. Am I not too damn crazy for thinking his English and Japanese voices are from the same voice actor? It seems so to me. Then again, I think anyone can churn out that retarded, low pitch voice of his he's ill fated to be destined with.

Xu Huang: May be a different voice actor. Somehow a very amateurish delivery in this scene and hardly any emotion. Hardly likeable.

Zhen Ji: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. Absolutely perfect in every way.

Zhang He: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. You either hate it or love it; I love it to be honest.

Guo Jia: Another overly young, nerdy voice type with the dreaded nasally attribute. If that was anyone else but Guo Jia, it would be utter fail, sort of like Cao Pi lip-syncing over it.

Cao Wenji: Not shown at all, aww… but I'm pretty sure it'll be her same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. I have no idea why they omitted her voice, perhaps it's because they have yet to find a voice actor for her?

Pang De: It sounds alright, but could use a little more touch of badassery like the badass he is.

Wang Yi: Decent, but I take her Japanese voice over this one any day.

Cao Pi: Same voice from Dynasty Warriors 7. Akin to his wife Zhen Ji, this one's also absolutely perfect.
